Snug is our innovative new play equipment which transforms any school playground into a creative and sociable play environment. The Snug Kit has been developed through many years experience of working in schools, (see the Experimental Playground Project for the background story) and an exhaustive research program supported by NESTA, the Esmee Fairburn Foundation and the Arts Council.
Snug consists of modular elements that children can move around and join together to create their own exciting playscapes. The kit includes both larger scale elements intended for longer term placement, and very light mobile units, whose configuration can change in a flash. Children can manipulate all the elements, although some require a little teamwork. The Snug elements are soft and tactile, yet durable and waterproof and require no installation.
Teachers around the country are using Snug as a dynamic learning resource for creative learning and play across the curriculum.
The Snug Kit can be supplied with its own playground storage unit, children have no difficulty getting the kit in and out it of whenever needed.
In 2009, Snug won a prestigious Kid's Design Award in Japan and is now a recommended product by the Kid's Design Association there.
